Rhode Island CPA license renewal
Triennial. Every permit (individual and firm) is valid for 3 years and expires on June 30 of its scheduled year (R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 5-3.1-7, 5-3.1-9). Rhode Island staggers its licensee population across three parallel cohorts (~1/3 due each year), so which year a given permit is next due depends on when it was last issued or renewed.
| Cohort group | Years due | Next deadline |
|---|---|---|
| Cohort due 2027 | Rotating cohort -- assignment not publicly disclosed | June 30, 2027 |
| Cohort due 2028 | Rotating cohort -- assignment not publicly disclosed | June 30, 2028 |
| Cohort due 2029 | Rotating cohort -- assignment not publicly disclosed | June 30, 2029 |
