Preventing the miss is the first job. Proving you tried is the second.
Most of this site is about the first job: a renewal date sourced to the actual rule, and a reminder that reaches your admin instead of one person's inbox. This page is about the second one. When a partner, a board, an insurer or your own file asks what the firm did about a licence, the answer shouldn't be a reconstructed email thread. The dashboard's Reports tab keeps the record as it happens — and hands it to you on request, on every tier, with no export limit.
246 of 246 dated records across this site's datasets were individually re-checked against their source within the last 30 days — see exactly how we verify every deadline.
1. The Compliance Summary — the roll-up
One view across the whole roster: coverage, status breakdown, and who needs to act before a deadline — for every staff CPA and for the firm's own registration. Not a dashboard you're meant to watch all day. A summary you can generate, date, and put in front of somebody.
Each line traces back to the same sourcing standard as every free state page on this site: the codified statute or rule where we could confirm it, and clearly labelled where we could only confirm it against the board's own page. Never a guess, here or anywhere else.
Scope note: the coverage overview — coverage %, status breakdown, due-soon count, at-risk ranking — is part of a paid firm plan. A solo account gets it free. See plans.
2. The audit trail — the dated record
The part most tracking tools don't keep. The audit trail is a dated record of what actually happened in your account:
- when a staff member was added to the roster, and by whom
- when their state, licence type or renewal date changed
- every reminder we actually sent — to whom, on what date, about which deadline
- when somebody opted out (and every staff member can, from the one transparent email they get the moment they're added)
"Actually sent" is the operative phrase, and it's the reason the record is worth anything. Not scheduled, not should have gone out — sent, logged, dated.
3. The export — your file, not ours
Export the Compliance Summary as a CSV, and save the full record — summary and audit trail together — as a PDF, for a board inquiry, an insurer, a partner meeting, or your own file. Free on every tier. No export limit. No upgrade prompt at the moment you need it, no per-export cap, nothing held back on a cheaper plan — the same rule as the rest of our pricing.
Scope note: firms on a paid plan can also keep the resulting documents alongside the record: document storage, 2MB per file, 50MB per firm.
4. What this record does and doesn't prove
Worth being exact, because a compliance record that overstates itself is worse than none.
What it does show. What this product did, and what your firm did in it: who was on the roster and when, what dates we were tracking, and every reminder that actually went out. If the question is "did anyone tell them?", this answers it with dates.
What it does not show.
- It is not a verification of licence status with the board. There is no recurring human check-in against the state board or CPAverify.org on your behalf — we've said that on our firm overview since day one and it's still true here. The renewal dates are verified against primary law; the individual's standing is not something we look up for you.
- It is not proof the licensee renewed. It's proof of what the firm and this product did. Whether the filing was made is between the licensee and the board.
- CPE hours in the record are self-reported. Your firm's own log against each state's requirement — not independently verified, and kept clearly labelled and separate from the sourced renewal dates. We won't blur the two.

5. Where it lives
It's the fifth tab in the firm dashboard, right after CPE Hours. Nothing to enable, nothing to configure, no reporting module to buy.
